Centre de Support en Santé Internationale (CSSI), Chad

The Centre de Support en Santé Internationale (CSSI), Ndjamena was created in 1996. It is supported by the Swiss Tropical Institute (Basle), reflecting the Institute’s long-standing presence in Chad.

The work of the CSSI focuses on the control of infectious diseases, on international health and on the development of health systems. The Swiss Tropical Institute is very experienced in the field of meningococcal carriage studies and is ready to support the centre with this project.

The Farcha Veterinary and Zoological Research Laboratory at N'Djamena regularly uses molecular methods and will assist CSSI with this aspect of the studies. The laboratory can perform bacterial culture, serogrouping, ELISA, and bactericidal assays.
